Security Practices & Architecture
The most secure database is one that cannot be breached remotely because it is not connected to a remote server. By engineering LyfMateStrix as an offline-first system, we mathematically eliminate central honeypot attack vectors.
1. Threat Model & Core Philosophy
Traditional productivity applications store millions of users' sensitive personal schedules on centralized cloud databases. These databases become prime targets for credential stuffing, misconfigured API breaches, and state-sponsored espionage.
LyfMateStrix approaches security from an architectural containment perspective:
- Zero Remote Databases: We do not operate a centralized cloud database of customer tasks. A breach of LyfMateStrix corporate infrastructure cannot expose your daily routines.
- Local Sandboxing: All data is stored in the host operating system's private, sandboxed application directory protected by OS-level file encryption.
- Offline Operation: The mobile application and companion watch work without an internet connection. They exchange data only with each other, over short-range Bluetooth.
2. Website Security Standards (lyfmatestrix.com)
The public web platform adheres to industry best practices:
- Enforced HTTPS: Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3) enforced with HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) preloading headers.
- Zero Client-Side Secrets: No API tokens, administrative credentials, or private keys exist in public JavaScript assets.
- Strict Content Security Policy (CSP): Configured to prevent cross-site scripting (XSS) and unauthorized inline script injection.
- Secure HTTP Headers: X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, X-Frame-Options: DENY, and strict Referrer-Policy.
- Sanitized Input Handling: The contact form sanitizes all input strings and uses anti-bot honeypots with rate limiting to prevent denial-of-service attempts.
3. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Security
Data exchange between the LyfMateStrix mobile application and companion wearable uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), with no internet involved:
- Short-Range Isolation: Physical proximity is an absolute physical prerequisite for data synchronization.
- Dedicated Service: The app and watch communicate on their own GATT service (`7ab20000-b51b-4411-8bce-459f152d3433`). The watch advertises this service so the app can find it.
- No Link Encryption Yet: The current watch firmware does not use Bluetooth pairing or link encryption. Data sent over the link is limited to your schedule, notes, hydration totals, your chosen watch photo, and firmware updates.
- Non-Exposed Payload Sinks: Wearable firmware strictly validates and parses incoming packets with bounded buffer constraints to prevent buffer overflow attacks.
4. Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure
We welcome vulnerability reports and security feedback from independent security researchers. If you identify a potential security issue in any LyfMateStrix software, firmware, or web property:
